Perfect-Ish
My film is going to be called Perfect-Ish. Like I have mentioned in previous blog posts the genre that I have selected is coming-of-age. I feel very comfortable with choosing a coming-of-age genre because I ironically watch a lot of coming-of-age films without even realizing it. I also love everything about coming-of-age films, the colors, the character development, and especially the vibe of these films in this genre. When doing a coming-of-age film usually they are upbeat films and the vibes are very happy and there is a bunch of colors like pinks, blues, yellows, and whites. Which is what my partner and I are trying to incorporate into our film.
The main character is going to be a teenager in high school around 16 years old. She is a pretty girl and to other people in her school she's very pretty and popular but, behind close doors she is actually very insecure and often is comparing herself to other girls on social media. This plot line was not too difficult to come up with because we were trying to have our character be in todays society and sometimes this plot line can be someone else's reality.
I think our plot line can turn into something really good and there is so much to work with the plot we have, and the coming-of-age genre in general. Some movies that have inspired me are
"To All The Boys I've Loved Before",
"Clueless"
"Mean Girls"
The part that I was inspired by, these three films is the high school aspect and how these characters come off to other people at their school as popular, pretty, and confident, but behind closed doors they have insecurities and compare themselves to other girls.
