Since we first started planning our plot for our film opening project. We came up with a theme and plot, as we kept on developing our story the one thing that stayed consistent throughout was the plot.

What's a good coming-of-age film without a concealing personality?

Even though we didn't want our film opening to look to much like the basic coming-of-age films. We still wanted to add in the "high school" feeling. Since the target audience for the coming-age genre is from 12 to 18 we had to include that because that the stage of life that most of the characters are in and the audience is in when watching the film. Most coming-of-age films have a character were they are not a complete open book, most characters have at least one thing about them that they are insecure about or do not want to share. Due to the feeling of being judged or not "fitting in".
